Diagnostic characters : mandible and frons oblique; antennal. scape spined ectoapically; fore intercoxal process dilated posteriorly; mid intercoxal process truncate and broad, reaching posterior margin of coxae; femora fusiform-clavate, slightly compressed laterally, pedunculate at base.

Body metallic blue-green; mandible, labrum, anterior of prosternum and coxae fusco-testaceous; posterior half of prosternum metallic green; antennae pitchy  tinged with chalybeate; undersurfaces metallic green with dense argentate pubescence; legs entirely fuscous, darker on tibiae.

 

Head strongly raised between antennal insertion, convex; mandible oblique to frons; the latter vertical, planate, asperate and coarsely granulate; labrum obscure with several long bristles; clypeus reduced into transverse band; external side of antennifer produced laterally over upper eye lobe, inner margin sharply pointed; vertex with a deep pit between eyes; neck evenly and coarsely granulate. Antenna longer than body in both sexes; fringed endo-ventrally; scape asperate, sharply spined ectoapically; segment 4 longest, at least 3 X as long as scape; 5 a little shorter than 4, subequal to 3; 6 - 11 gradually decreased in length, half as long as 5; 3 - 11 strongly complanate. Prothorax squarish; side unarmed; anterior with a transverse sulcus; constricted at apex and base, area between strongly dilated laterally in , less so in ; pronotum flat, strongly raised in middle, granulo-striate; anterior brownish part of prosternum glabrous, metallic part densely granulo-punctulate. Scutellum linguiform; convex at middle. Elytron elongated; 5 X as long as broad; dehiscent at 1/5 from apex; disc transversely with subparallel puncto-striate.

Body bare, testaceous with metallic green or chablybeate stripes; entire head and scape dark fulvous; antennae fuscous except scape, lighter towards apex; anterior and posterior margin of thorax, a narrow median longitudinal stripe, a broader lateral stripe and epimeron of prothorax metallic green to chablybeate; pronotum with a subcordate testaceous patch; scutellum black, base slightly testaceous; elytra testaceous yellow; an outer subcurvate longitudinal stripe beginning from humeral angle, tapering at apex and a outer marginal stripe chablybeate; both stripes meet at apex; mesosternum testaceous, blackish near suture with episternum; femora fuscous, dorsal part of mid and hind femora slight testaceous.

 

Head raised between antennal insertion, sloping posteriorly; mandible almost perpendicular to frons, tip abrubtly bent, base coarsely punctate; labrum quadrate, membranous; clypeus reduced into a longitudinal ridge; lower genal margin denticulate; gula granulated; frons oblique, heavily punctate and spiniferous, with two triangular deep lacunae in front; neck coarsely punctate. Antenna a little longer than body in ; scape asperate and echinate, sharply spined ectoapically; segment 3 - 5 subequal, 3 X as long as scape; asperate, slightly thickened at apex, strongly spiniferous and dentate ventrally; 6 - 9 complicate laterally, dentate ectoapically. Prothorax transverse; side rounded, unarmed; subcordate area on disc elevated, granulate; anterior of prosternum glabrous but transversely aciculate, remaining area granulate. Scutellurn linguiform, glabrous. Elytron narrow, 6 X as long as broad in ; parallel, rounded at apex; disc flat, slightly decurved at side, evenly punctate.

Undersurfaces pubsecent on meso- and metathorax, only sparsely pubescent on abdomen. Legs strongly compressed laterally; femora fusiform-clavate, pedunculate at base; fore femur shorter than the others; first hind tarsal segment twice as long as 2 + 3 united.

Neotropical Region: Caribbean (Puerto Rico).

 

Known habitat: secondary forest, near forest clearing and villages.

 

Host : Acacia catechu, A. arabica, A. confusa, A. modesta, A. mollissima, Acrocarpus fraxinifolius, Adina cordifolia, Albizia lebbek, A. lucida, A. odoratissima, A. procera, A. stipulata, A. moluccana, A. chinensis, Adenanthera pavonina, Bauhinia acuminata, Cassia glauca, Duabanga sonneratioides, Haematoxylon campechianum, Samanea saman, Salmalia malabarica, Grewia tiliaefolia, Prunus persica, Parkia speciosa, Xylia xylocarpa. (Duffy, 1968).

 

Note : Gahan (1906b) described the male specimen in having antennal segment 3 -5 thickened apically, strongly asperate and dentate ventrally, prosternum "have a transversed striated glossy band of metallic color, close to the front margin, the rest of its surfaces as well as the lower part of the sides of the prothorax forming a convexly raised, very minutely and densely punctate, area of dull red color" while the lateral band on prothorax runs obliquely from the side of the thorax in front towards the medio-basal lobe behind.

Body testaceous brown with metallic greenish stripes on pronotum and elytra; entire head testaceous except mandible and eyes black; antennae black; two lateral stripes, apical and basal margin of prothorax metallic green; cordate pattern on disc, prosternum testaceous; scutellum testaceous; elytra testaceous brown with two marginal metallic green stripes, slightly excurved near humeral end, inner margin meets before apex; meso-, and metasternum testaceous with

tawny pubescence; base of femora castenous, apical part testaceous; tibiae castenous with testaceous tip.

 

Head raised between antennal insertion, concave; mandible acute; suture between labrum, clypeus and frons obscure; weak transverse ridges on clypeus interrupted at middle; lower genal margin produced but blunt; temple weakly striate or aciculate; gula subglabrous; frons coarsely puncture, anterior with two shallow fissure; neck slightly dented between upper eye lobe, striate­punctate. Antenna 1/4 longer than body in ; scape punctate, subspiniferous, sharply dentate ectoapically; segment 3 - 5 asperate, spiniferous and weakly spined ventrally; 6 - 10 spined ectoapically; 6 - 11 subequal, 1/3 as long as 5, dorsal and ventrally carinate, side complicate. Prothorax narrower than elytra; cordate surface elevated, latero-posteriorly inflated, disc flattened. Elytron 5 X as long as broad; rounded at apex; disc flat, punctate. Legs compressed laterally; femora subfusiform-clavate with ventral margin linear, pedunculate at base; first hind tarsal segment as long as 2 + 3 united.
